Happy Friday! We’ve had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. We’ll be visiting with my parents and sister. I’m excited to see my sister! It’s been too long.
I’m linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for this week’s favorites.
I’m still drooling over these delicious muffins
I sorted Lego’s over the weekend and ended up putting 10 sets together. I should just buy some for myself. It’s so relaxing. I could do it all day. It’s my favorite 🙂 Right now I placed colors in separate baggies. I still need to figure out a solution for Lego organization.
Xander’s so excited that he has a new tooth coming in. I’m a little worried because it’s coming behind his other teeth, but it’s his favorite to move his tongue over it.
We had so much fun at a friends kids birthday party. The kids loved playing and running around.
Finding staged dolls was a favorite. Thanks, Nick!
PIctures next to waterfalls are always a favorite. I could sit next to a waterfall all day. It’s so peaceful.
We went swimming at Nana’s pool. Her pool is our favorite! It’s never crowded 🙂
Xander’s been wanting me to make him a cage out of his Zoob blocks at home for his wrestling ring. I can’t figure it out though. I figured it out with Nana’s petals. It’s his favorite and wishes he could bring them home.
Have a great weekend!
Good morning and happy August! It’s officially school month and I can’t wait!
Today’s recipe I just have one word…WOW! An amazing muffin that surpassed my expectations. Fluffy, moist, and packed full of flavor. So so so good!
This recipe comes from the I heart naptime cookbook.
I made two versions, one with coconut and one without.
The kids have been loving the plain, but still packed with flavor
I LOVE the addition of coconut. The flavors blend so well together.
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1-1/4 cups ripe banana, mashed
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1-1/2 cups chocolate chips
I stuck 12 in the freezer so I can pull them out and enjoy whenever I want 😉
I hope you’ll try them and enjoy them as much as we have!
Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend. We went to a birthday party and had the best time. Built a bunch of lego sets. Worked on laundry. Cleaned the office, finally. And made some really delightful muffins.
We love reading in our house. I’ve seen ideas around Pinterest on doing “book clubs.” The idea to add fun crafts along with the book would be fun for the kids. They loved it!
I didn’t plan to do Dragons Love Tacos as our first book activity. I shifted our schedule around since we were out of town for a week. It worked out and was a huge hit. We stopped at Taco Bell on the way back from errands. Little did the kids know my reasoning.
After lunch, we read the book and got busy making crafts
Making the masks was a favorite
We, of course, had to make the fire breathing dragon.
Next up was a taco for the dragon and a taco for themselves
Making sure her taco isn’t too spicy for the dragon.
Sterling made herself a cheesy “roll-up”
The dragons eating their tacos
Oh no, they were too spicy. There’s fire all over the place!
This is where Xander finally picked up that I planned all this and the fire breathing dragons were because they made their tacos a little too spicy. 🙂
Jayla made our tacos that night. She did a great job!
Three fire-breathing dragons scared the bejeebus out of Nick 😉
Have you done something like this? If you haven’t tried doing book activities with your kids, you should. I think they’ll love it! We loved it so much that we’re going to do another book.
Happy Friday! Wow did this week fly by for you too? I’ve been lacking in the sleep department and the days are zooming by. We have 30 days until school starts and am I ever ready? We have another busy month ahead with an out of town trip, doctor visits, in-laws coming for a visit, and getting back on a school schedule. I’m ready for the early morning schedules!
I’m linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for this weeks Friday Favorites.
Two weeks ago Nick joined us for a last minute week away. We had the best time. It’s not too often that he can take more than a day or two of leave, so to take a whole week was just what we needed. Playing forehead cards was a favorite!
After getting back home from our trip, seeing my plant dying of thirst was not a favorite
The next day she was a beauty again. I’m so thankful this plant is so forgiving!
Watching Jayla and Sterling put on a magic show was hilarious
Watching my “grandkids” while I was working made me think of all my favorite memories playing with dolls as a young child. It’s so fun watching Sterling talk and play with her dolls.
We did a book craft day this week and the kids had the best time! Creating their dragons masks was their favorite
Jayla’s been wanting to help make dinner, so she made tacos one night. All by herself. And did great 🙂
I spy three dragons scaring their favorite person to mess with 🙂
I put the kids to work and it quickly became my favorite day! They cleaned their rooms (dusted, vacuumed, and picked up toys) and bathrooms. Do you want to say you’re bored again? 😉 I really haven’t heard them say those words this summer, but on that day it was off the charts!
I’m trying to find a Lego organization method. We need some help and I’m not finding what I’m looking for on Pinterest. Do you have any Lego organization ideas that have worked for your kid(s)?
We ended up dumping all of Sterling play room in one big pile and starting over. Her space is my favorite 😉
Yesterday was Jayla’s most favorite day all summer. We took her to the American Girl store and she picked out her very own doll. Her birthday is a few days after she leaves so we bought her gift a few weeks early 🙂 We love this girl so much! She picked out a PJ set so her and Sterling’s dolls can be twins. She also picked out a puppy to go with her girl. I think her bird may be one of her favorites too. We have a fun weekend planned that involves a birthday party, yard work (if the rain stays away), finding a Lego solution, making fluffy cloud pancakes (everyone’s favorite), and finishing up school prep.
Have a great weekend!
